Sometimes we are headed in a direction we think we want but then our pursuits get cut off for whatever reason; a twist of fate, a lack of support, resources or a sudden turn of events causes an end to that pursuit. Sometimes we never even know the reason but the door keeps slamming shut on us. Goldie Hawn dreamed of owning a dance studio and Gabby Bernstein says "It's this or something better." Personally, I can relate in my pursuits of becoming a fashion designer at the beginning of my career. After years and years of landing jobs in the fashion industry but weren't quite what I had in mind - I realized the reason I wanted to be a fashion designer in the first place was because of my love for art. So, I started painting again and realized those dreams were actually fractured for me (not to me). That's what this painting is all about.
